Can I use GNU GPL licensed Joomla website templates for my business?
Sometimes there is a quote “not for commercial use”. Does this mean I cannot sell the template or I cannot use the template as my business website?
GNU GPL allows commercial use, and redistribution. The restrictions apply only to redistribution (even then commercial redistribution is allowed, the source code must be provided if you are redistributing the original or a derived product). So, if a template is GNU GPL licensed, you can use it without worrying about legal issues. If it also says “not for commercial use” – contact the author.
